INVITATION TO TENDER

CONSTRUCTION OF 2 WATER KIOSKS WITH 2KM PIPELINE EXTENSION IN BARAKA IDP CAMP, ELBARDE TOWN BAKOOL REGION, SOUTH-WEST STATE, SOMALIA

  1. Introduction

WASDA is a local humanitarian agency whose work aims at creating an enabling environment for marginalized communities to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion. WASDA has been working with pastoral communities in Kenya and Somalia for the past 23 years.

WASDA, with funding from BMZ through Action Medeor (AM) and Johanniter, is implementing the PoWEr project, a resilience initiative titled “Promoting Women Empowerment and strengthening vulnerable groups through an integrated approach to create resilient communities in South Central Somalia." This project is designed to help 77,000 drought-affected people in Elbarde district, Bakool region, who are currently facing a critical shortage of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene supplies, as well as significant challenges in health, nutrition, and food security in their rural and IDP settlements. This PoWEr project goes beyond simple aid by taking in to account an integrated approach that addresses four critical needs at once: WASH, primary healthcare, nutrition, and food security where the WASH Provides access to clean water and sanitation that directly combats the spread of waterborne diseases. The primary healthcare and nutrition components offer essential treatment and provision of medical services and nutrition supplements. Through improving water access and FSL training, the project has empowered families to grow their own food, thereby strengthening their food security and building long-term self-reliance. This multi-faceted strategy creates a more resilient community in the target district of Elbarde district.

For this purpose, WASDA hereby invites interested qualified contractors/suppliers with sound financial capacity and relevant work experiences in similar activity to submit their bids. Interested eligible candidates may obtain the complete set of the bidding document and further information by sending email to [email protected]
